The D'Mello Shield now into its second year. It is a doubles event for which pairs are drawn on the day. Vic D'Mello was a much-loved member of our club who was especially enthusiastic when it came to social doubles events. The winning pair on the day will have won roughly 5-6 rounds of doubles: certainly not for the faint-hearted!
 
I am delighted to let you all know that Ollie M and Claudio M won the D’Mello shield today - a truly deserved win against two strong opponents, Dave K and Nathan B, an amazing final which was a perfect end to an afternoon of fabulous tennis from everyone!
 
Thank you to Noah for all his hard work in the build up to the day very much appreciated!
 
Thank you also to Maria and Sharon my partners in crime for the afternoon who helped with scoring, baking and generally keeping things together.  But the biggest thanks go to everyone who played today. It was lovely to welcome some newer members to the club you were all amazing not least given the rather warm weather.
 
Thanks also to everyone who came to support our event this year Victor would  have been very proud.

We played away at Brenchley and Matfield. Our team today was Chris and Brian and Maggie and Mark.

We lost 3-0 today but our team played brilliantly -which isn’t reflected in our final scores. Chris and Brian secured a strong win over their number two pair. Maggie and Mark narrowly missed winning their match against their number two pair losing only in the tie break.

Sharon and I both enjoyed supporting our team today and were very proud of all four players - well done guys 👍.

It was an absolute pleasure to play at Brenchley and Matfield, they were welcoming and sociable and the match was played in good spirits.
